The celebration of St.George’s day is related to the tradition “flowers dunking”. On the evening before the holiday (May 5th ) all the unmarried women, dressed in traditional costumes, gather secretly from the unmarried men to put their flower bouquet in a ceramic pot, which has to spend the night under a rose bush. Every flower bouquet is marked in a specific way, so that each girl can recognize her own on the next day.
On the St. George’s day about noon, after the mess in the church, girls take the ceramic pot, dance 'horo' (traditional Bulgarian dance) around it and sing traditional songs. After that a little girl takes out the flower bouquets one by one and a young bride makes a prophesy for each of them.
